Profile

Born and raised in British Columbia, Kimi made Prince George her home more than 10 years ago. Prior to moving to Prince George, Kimi attended university in Japan, earning a Japanese Studies Degree. She continued her undergraduate education at the University of British Columbia and received a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Political Economy. In 2006, Kimi received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria and was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 2007. She has practiced law at Dick Byl Law Corporation since October 2007.

Prior to attending law school, Kimi was very active in the community. She chaired the Family Court/Youth Justice Committee. She was a Director for the Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society, which brought recycling to Prince George, and was a member of the Civic Pride Action Group responsible for, among other things, banners and flower baskets on the highway.

While much of Kimi's leisure time is now spent raising her young family, she still volunteers with the UBC Alumni Association as the Northern Representative and the Minerva Foundation for BC Women, a non-profit organization that promotes leadership and personal growth among local women. She also enjoys reading, yoga, running and cooking. Kimi is looking forward to working in Prince George and getting re-involved with community activism.
