Following his graduation from Prince George Senior Secondary School, Dick Byl pursued his education at the University of British Columbia where, in 1979, he was awarded the degrees of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws. Dick furthered his education in England at the London School of Economics and Political Science where he was granted a Master of Laws Degree. He returned to Prince George and was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1981.

 

Dick has practiced continuously in Prince George and focused his career primarily in the field of Personal Injury litigation. His accomplishments as a practitioner include complex motor vehicle accident cases and native land claim disputes. Most recently, the focus of his attentions has been with the case of Carrier Lumber Ltd. vs. The Province of British Columbia, a high-profile case involving an action against the provincial government for breach of contract.

 

In 1993, Dick founded the firm of Dick Byl Law Corporation. He brings to the Firm a combination of keen business sense and good people skills as well as a solid history of excellent legal work. He has provided sound legal advice to clients from all walks of life and is committed to serving his clients into the future.
